Hydrangea wedding cake by Peggy Porschen
One of the most important aspects of your wedding breakfast will be the wedding cake itself. Not only will you have to go through the ritual of cutting the cake with your new husband, but you want to ensure that every guest has a slice to take home as a keepsake.
But should it be a croquembouche or a chocolate cake? A fruit cake or tiers of cheese? Our top tips can point you in the right direction..
1. When it comes to the style of your cake, take inspiration from your colour scheme, venue and even details on your wedding dress.
2. A good wedding cake designer will ask for as much detail of your big day as possible to help him or her come up with some suitable ideas. Inspiration could come from your dress design, your colour scheme, or even your venue.
3. Look for a cake designer who specialises in the style of cake you're looking for. If you have your heart set on a chocolate wedding cake, for example, find a chocolate expert.
