Thinking of getting married in Las Vegas like Peaches Geldof? It's one of the top 10 best places to get married in the world...

Peaches Geldof has just got married in one of the top 10 dream wedding locations, according to a survey of over 2000 people by Halifax Travel Insurance. Las Vegas came in at number four in the list of the best places in the world to get wed. With its kitsch hotels, drive-through wedding chapels and history of celebrity nuptials, Vegas's popularity as a wedding venue is perhaps not too surprising.

A more unusual contender on the list has to be Disneyland - the survey revealed that twice as many men as women opted to tie the knot with Mickey Mouse as their witness, proving that the famous theme park really is 'where dreams come true'!

The celebrity factor is definitely something which influences brides and grooms' decisions to get married abroad. Vicky Watson of Halifax says, 'Destination weddings are definitely increasing in popularity, especially since the likes of Coleen and Wayne's wedding abroad.'

Other factors include the unpredictability of the British weather, and the high prices sometimes associated with a traditional wedding in the UK. There are also now a large number of overseas hotels and venues which offer competitive wedding packages, which can include the services of in-house wedding co-ordinators. Just don't forget to take out your travel insurance before you go! And pray you don't bump into Peaches...

The top 10 list of places to get married:

1. The Caribbean

2. Maui, Hawaii

3. The Amalfi Coast, Italy

4. Las Vegas, USA

5. Gretna Green, Scotland

6. The French Riviera

7. Disneyland Paris

8. Napa Valley, USA

9. Cape Town Vineyards, South Africa

10. Cuba
